    • Complete the request for reconsideration form (Insert form)
    • A receipt of request for reconsideration will be returned to you and will indicate any further requirements needed.
  • Nominated- Whats next?

    Once you are nominated, find out the next steps in becoming a permanent resident.

    • Once you receive your AINP nomination package, we can assist in reviewing your package and completing the necessary steps for submitting your permanent residence application.
    • Once your application is complete, we can assist in any further checks that need to be completed, such as Medical, criminal and security checks.

Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS)

Launched in 2018, this stream is for foreign nationals who are currently working in Alberta and have an offer to continue to work in Alberta on a full-time basis.

    • Eligibility
      • Meet occupational requirements
      • Meet post-graduation work requirements
      • Language requirements
      • Work experience requirements
    • Non-Eligibility
      • Previous involvement in a federal appeal or removal process.
      • Living or working in another province
      • Do not have a valid temporary resident status

    Work Experience

      • Current work experience must match work experience submitted at time of application
      • Minimum of 12 months full-time experience within 18 months
      • Post graduate work permit applicants required 6 months full-time experience within 18 months.
      • Minimum 24 months full-time experience within Canada or abroad within 30 months.
  • Educational Requirements

      • High school education
      • Starting in 2021, high school education equivalent to Alberta standards is required for all applications other than Post Graduate work permit applicants.

      Post Graduate applicants ;

      • Work permit must be in area of education
      • Prior to April 2019 education credentials must be issued by an approved Alberta post-secondary credentials list and a certificate, bachelor’s degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma or graduate degree must be present
      • Post April 2019, education credentials must be issued by an approved Alberta post-secondary credentials list.
  • Language Requirements

    • A score of at least Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 4 in English or French
    • If you apply to the AINP under NOC code 3413 (Nurse aides, orderlies and patient services), minimum test score required is:
    • CLB of 7 for each English language or NCLC for each French Language skill
    • Official test results completed less than 2 years from the time of application
  • Occupational Requirements

    • Eligibility
      • A work eligible occupation in Alberta
      • Work in an occupation that matches your previous work experience
      • Most occupations under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skills, level 0, A, B, C and D are eligible under the AINP
      • Currently working in Alberta in an occupation not listed in the Alberta Opportunity Stream Occupations List
      • Valid temporary resident status in Canada and a valid work permit
    • Non-Eligibility The following occupations are not eligible for AOS.
      • Post-Graduation Work Permit Holders
      • Post Graduation Work Permit holders with an eligible Alberta Advanced education by an approved post-secondary credential
      • Those currently enrolled in an Alberta approved credential program with a work permit in the specified field.
      • Occupation is on the government of Canada’s list of high-wage and low-wage occupations in the province of Alberta.
